This is the behind the scenes footage of Kristina Nikolova from Italy, Regional Grant Award winner of GFX Challenge Grant Program 2024. A”Stabat Mater – The Ten Ages of Woman” is an exploration of womanhood through ten pivotal stages of life, from infancy to advanced maturity. Each portrait captures the delicate interplay between transformation and permanence, as the body evolves while the essence of the spirit remains immutable. Using natural light and raw, unfiltered imagery, the project reveals stories of vulnerability, identity, and quiet resilience interwoven within each narrative. By transcending societal expectations, it opens a dialogue that bridges the personal experience with the essence of womanhood as deeply individual and inherently collective.
I protagonisti improvvisano con i materiali e con lo spazio, ma è il videomaker che interpreta l’azione determinando cosa “è” e cosa “appare”, ritaglia le sue figure e le cuce attraverso il tempo, riempiendo buchi o creando piccole voragini di senso. “elsewhere & elsewhen” è un’indagine sullo “stato dell’arte”, sulle traiettorie artistiche e sulla pratica coreografica, su come vediamo il paesaggio della danza, il paesaggio dell’arte in relazione allo spazio pubblico. Nel progetto in gaps & patches Heine Avdal & Yukiko Shinozaki / fieldworks uniscono improvvisazione e astrazione in una ricerca sul corpo nello spazio pubblico, attraverso un dialogo in progress e una ricerca di interazione con l’ambiente.In questa residenza a Firenze, dal 7 al 18 novembre, Avdal e Shinozaki esplorano il Parco delle Cascine insieme a cinque performer – Carolina Amoretti, Luisa Cortesi, Valerio Palladino, Stefano Questorio, Oleg Soulimenko – allo scrittore Jesse Poe e all’artista Olga Pavlenko. Il gruppo è accompagnato anche dalla videomaker Rebecca Lena e dal fotografo Giampaolo Becherini che seguono l’intero processo di ricerca.
A group of dancers and performers set out into the city. Like sculptures on tour, they activate the “Loredana Marchi” bridge over the canal next to Porte de Flandre. They move along different paths, through different landscapes, in one fluid and sustained performance that has no beginning or end. They adapt to different situations, settings and contexts along the way, constantly interacting with their surroundings. Using paper and textiles and their own bodies, they measure and produce frames that highlight the features or scale of the landscape, creating alternative interpretations of the link between the (human) body and time, between space and the environment.

immaginando Flørli dopo la nostra partenza. Le voci in sottofondo sono parte di un’attività performativa di Mette Edvardsen in cui ci veniva chiesto di imparare a memoria una poesia norvegese che parla di solitudine (“I Sengen” di Ruth Maier).
